A favorite item of Barry’s in the Russian River Historical Society Historical Society’s artifacts collection is a coronet that was used to play “Taps” at the graves of fallen servicemen, police officers and firefighters since the 1890s. As the descendant of early California firefighters, the instrument has a personal significance for Barry.
